Sci-Fi film Chaos Walking continues to film in Atlanta to salvage release

The movie Chaos Walking starring Tom Holland has been filming in Atlanta and was originally set to be released in March of this year. The sci-fi adventure film based off the Patrick Ness series is now expected to be released in 2020. Sources have said that “[The first cut of Chaos Walking] turned out so poorly that it was deemed unreleasable by executives who watched initial cuts last year, according to current and former employees.”

The stars including Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, Nick Jonas, David Oyelowo, and Mads Mikkelsen have been re-shooting scenes throughout Atlanta and have been spotted around town. The movie has cost over 100 million dollars, going over budget is nothing new to the films director Doug Liman. After the film refinishes the final product, the new release hopes to have more potential for success at the box office.

Holland is no stranger to Atlanta, having filmed Spiderman: Homecoming, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame here. He recently missed the Avengers: Endgame premiere explaining “Hey everyone. I just wanted to do a little message and say sorry I wasn’t at the premiere last night. I’m in Atlanta — shooting Chaos Walking.”
