The movie Tyson’s Run has been spotted in Marietta, Fayetteville and more during the filming of this movie about an child with autism and his attempt to connect with his father through marathon training. A few weeks back you could see the crew in Marietta Square, and then later filming at Pope High School. The movie is directed and written by Kim Bass, known for his shows such as Sister, Sister and Kenan and Kel. Bass has said in interviews that while the tax credits and great locations get people to film in Georgia, its the hospitality of the people that keeps them coming back. Kim Bass told 11Alive in Atlanta that, “southern hospitality goes along with the professionals who are here and so it was the absolute right choice to come here and it’s been a fantastic experience and I don’t think it’ll be my last time here making a film.” Major Dodson plays the young boy with autism, and is best known for his role on The Walking Dead. The movie features Amy Smart (The Butterfly Effect) as his overprotective mother, and Rory Cochrane (Argo) as the father he wishes to reconnect with through their training.

Holly Quinlan, the Cobb Travel and Tourism CEO, has said that there has been lots of growth for filming in the Cobb area, with 275 requests for locations last year alone. It seems Georgia will continue to be the top location for production in the country, with the vast options and landscapes available for all types of projects.
