The Atlanta Film Festival is gearing up for this year’s event, running from April 25, 2024, at the Plaza and Tara Theatres.
Michael Showalter’s The Idea of You will kick off the festival, featuring Anne Hathaway as a middle-age single mother who gets entangled in a passionate romance with 24-year-old rockstar Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine).
The festival will conclude at the Plaza on May 4, with Sing Sing, starring Colman Domingo as a wrongly imprisoned man who discovers a new side of himself through a prison theater group.
“In its 48th edition, our city’s longest-running celebration of cinema will offer audiences a fascinating and diverse array of feature and short films across a variety of genres and topics from both around Georgia and the world,” remarked the festival’s Executive Director Christopher Escobar.
Over 24% of the films included in the programming have Georgia connections.
Additionally, the Creative Conference is scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 3, providing educational opportunities for both filmmakers and festival attendees through approximately 32 in-person panels and eight virtual panels.
