“Resurrection’s” Arcadia, Missouri Actually Located in Georgia

ABC’s new hit TV show “Resurrection” starring Omar Epps, Frances Fisher, Matt Craven, Kurtwood Smith, and many others is based on the concept of what would happen if lost loved ones came back to life. The series is based on the book The Returned by Jason Mott. The series premiered on March 9, 2014 and wrapped up Season 1 on May 4, 2014.

The show is centered in Arcadia, Missouri, but no filming has actually taken place anywhere near Missouri. The show is filmed in several locations around Georgia. The production crew said that Georgia is the perfect filming location because of the diversity in landscape within a short distance; ranging from a small town to a large city, or a river to the ocean.

The Department Head Make-Up Artist Leigh Ann Yandle Perry told Georgia Film & Music: “Anything you could want, you can find it in the state of Georgia.”

Cast members of “Resurrection” also discussed the beauty of Georgia and all that it has to offer as a filming location.

“Resurrection” will return to ABC in the fall, airing Sundays at 9:00 pm EST.
