Marvel Studios is rumored to be filming New Warriors here in Georgia.

ABC’s Freeform has ordered a 10 episode season for the new show, executive produced by Kevin Beigel, well known for Scrubs. The show will follow the lives of six people with superpowers. Characters include lesser-known Marvel heroes Microbe, Night Thrasher, Mister Immortal, Debrii, Speedball, and Squirrel Girl. Reports say Anna Kendrick is of interest to the company for Squirrel Girl.

The show is still listed in pre-production.

The New Warriors, created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz, first appeared in The Mighty Thor in 1989, followed by their own series in multiple iterations for years since. Marvel’s upcoming TV series is based on the version created by Zeb Wells and Skottie Young.
