With the success of so many horror TV shows, it comes to no surprise that MTV is getting in on the action. In addition, to their Teen Wolf series an adaption of the 1985 Teen Wolf movie, they will be adding the TV series Scream.

Scream was first shown in 1996. The movie takes place in a small town and when a masked killer begins killing teenagers, a group of teenage friends join together to outsmart the rules of horror films when they find themselves living in one. The success of the first movie led to four other films and now a television series.

The series will be executive produced by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Wes Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena, Cathy Konrad and Jill Blotevogel. The series will also be co – produced with Dimensions TV.

Scream is set to premiere October 2015.
