According to Project Casting the time has come. Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ is now in pre-production in Atlanta. ‘Guardians’ will be the third movie of Marvel’s to be filmed in Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios.

Director James Gunn posted on Instagram saying that he likes Atlanta so far. Gunn also directed the first installment of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ which brought in nearly $775 million worldwide.

According to IMDb Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista will all be reunited in this sequel. While information on the storyline has not yet been released, past Facebook posts of Gunn’s reveal that there will be some backstory on the original characters as well as some new characters thrown into the mix. Sarah Finn is the official casting director for the film. Finn has been in the realm of superhero blockbusters such as ‘Avengers,’ ‘Iron Man,’ and ‘Iron Man 3.”

The sequel is projected to start filming this coming February for a duration of ten months, and is set to release in theaters on May 5, 2017.
