IATSE Local 479 Pursues Legal Action for Unpaid Cast and Crew
By Oz Online | Published on December 14, 2016

IATSE 479 is pursuing legal action for payroll obligations that have not been met in Atlanta film productions.

Recently, the production Superstition: Final Chance had to halt production due to a lack of funds. This resulted in cast and crew not being paid for the final two weeks of production. IATSE representative Theresa Khouri explained that they are “pursuing legal action for material breach of contract, as the production failed to meet payroll…as required by their agreement.” They will continue to update those affected throughout the process.

This is not the first time this year that a production has halted, causing a payroll discrepancy. Earlier this year we published a blog about Finding Steve McQueen, and similar complaints from cast and crew claiming they did not receive payment more than a month after their work dates. Thankfully, IATSE 479 is looking into both matters and having important discussions with production teams.
