By Oz Online | Published on July 14, 2014

The latest Atlanta area film screening is titled Homespun. The films featured in Homespun are short documentaries that showcase unique individuals around Atlanta. Local filmmakers display characters and neighborhoods that inspire Atlanta’s culture. The July Screening of Homespun will celebrate imagery in Atlanta.

The films include: “Thomas Bennett” directed by Nathan Hannold, “Adrian” directed by John Merizalde, and the world premiere of “Tommy” directed by John Merizalde. (For more info about these films including a short summary and director info, visit: http://atlantafilmfestival.com/atlff-events/2014/7/17/homespun-series-july-screening)

These films feature individuals who live on “the outskirts of our society,” according to the Atlanta Film Festival webpage. “They challenge viewers to find beauty in the places and the characters of our city that are often dismissed.”

In addition to the film screening there will be Q&A’s with the award-winning filmmakers as well as a mobile gallery exhibit from “We Love ATL that has been curated specifically for the Homespun audience.”

Attend the Homespun Series July Screening this Thursday, July 17 from 7:30-9:30 pm at The Plaza Theater.
