Georgia productions came out victorious at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

Taking place in Los Angeles over the weekend of September 8-9, the Creative Arts Emmy’s honored many great productions, including a few local works. Local animation giants Adult Swim came away with an Emmy for both Rick and Morty, and Robot Chicken. Rick and Morty received the show’s first Emmy, winning most Outstanding Animated Program. The Rick and Morty team beat out veterans such as South Park and The Simpsons with their episode “Pickle Rick”. Robot Chicken won the award for Outstanding Short Form Animated Program for the third time since its inception in 2001.

The rebooted hit Queer Eye is based in Atlanta and filmed throughout Georgia for its debut year this year. The show received four nominations and three wins for a very successful start to the series. They took home the award for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, and for Outstanding Structured Reality Program.

The FX show Atlanta has had a good history at the Emmy’s in its brief few seasons. This year Christian Sprenger won an award for Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour) as Director of Photography for the show. Kat Williams won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series for his work on the show, and the Atlanta crew also won the award for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation.

The Netflix original Stranger Things is also no stranger to winning awards, adding to their accolades they took home an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour).
