Ebony Blanding has been honored with the Discover Dunwoody Quarterly Award for Outstanding Production Associate for the second quarter of 2024. As a writer and director with profound Southern heritage, Ebony channels her love for storytelling into her work.
Ebony Blanding’s impressive career spans over 15 years and is characterized by numerous significant accomplishments. Her notable works include “Levitate Levitate Levitate,” exhibited at the Atlanta airport and “Georgia Voting Rights,” displayed at the Georgia State Capitol.
Currently, she is a Partnership & Engagement Specialist and filmmaker at Re:imagine, an Atlanta-based non-profit committed to supporting emerging talent in the production industry.
In 2024, she was awarded the Emerging Creative Residency Program Fellowship. Her short film “Jordan” received the Level Forward Impact Award at the 2022 SeriesFest. Additionally, in 2021, she was recognized as a Fellow for the Blackmagic Collective Future Directors of Studio Features.
“As a native of Georgia, I’ve always wanted to bloom where I’m planted as an artist in my home state by creating films and media works,” explained Blainding. “Working as an independent filmmaker and having the chance to grow my career with the support of my local film community and industry leaders, like Trilith Institute, who are backing my first independent film, is not only affirming but career changing.”
