Department of Labor Updates Minors Registration for Productions

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is implementing a new electronic application for registration, certification, and approval of minors, casting and production companies.

The change in the application process comes at the requests of several production companies and representatives of minors. It will provide all parties who employ minors in the entertainment industry with simpler and more expedient interactions with GDOL, including ability to submit and track seven days a week.

The application will go into production Friday, December 1, 2017. Effective March 1, 2018 all requests for approval of employing minors in a production must use the application. Directions concerning the use of the application will be made available on at on November 29, 2017.

Predating this, the GDOL has completed a review to update its Rules for Minors in Entertainment and is repealing and replacing the existing rules. The proposed rules may be reviewed at (this landing page will list the proposed repealed rules and new rules).
