Cause + Effect Accepting Submissions

The Cause and Effect Film Competition and Festival is currently accepting submissions from Georgia filmmakers.

The films must be between two to fifteen minutes, include mostly orignal content that focuses on a progressive issue affecting Georgia, and must include a call-to-action or offer solutions to the issue. According to their website, the films can be any genre, “documentary, short, animation, music video, etc.”

Round one judging will be done by the Alliance for a Better Georgia. They will select up to five semifinalists “based on originality, professionalism, clear explanation of issue(s) and potential progressive solutions.”

After the first round the semifinalists films will be posted to Better Gerogia‘s Facebook page for voting. At the end of a week the films will be awarded first, second and thrid place prizes based on the number of ‘likes’ and ‘shares.’

The grand prize will be $1,000, second prize is $250 and third will take home $100.

All of the films selected as semi-finalists will be shown in Athens, GA at Cine on Nov. 8.

There is no entry fee for the competition.
