Martin Lawrence and Will Smith will return for a third installment of the Bad Boys franchise, to be filmed in Atlanta.
Titled Bad Boys For Life, the film will again star Martin Lawrence and Will Smith as two cops hitting the streets in an action packed comedy written by Joe Carnahan.
Pre-production is scheduled to begin April 2017 in Atlanta, with the film shooting in Atlanta and Miami.
It has been over 20 years since the first Bad Boys (1995) film came out, and about 15 years since Bad Boys II (2003) was released. The films grossed over $400 million worldwide combined, with sales increasing from the first movie to the second, giving filmmakers hope for a successful third.
The film has seen a considerable delay in release dates, now scheduled for November, 2018 release after multiple date shifts. The film recently lost Carnahan as director, causing the film to regroup.
Rumors suggest that Sony has a fourth Bad Boys planned for 2019.
