In these unprecedented times, the ​Atlanta Film Society​ (ATLFS) moved a significant amount of their educational programming online, maintaining connection to the local film community and taking this opportunity to reach new audiences both in and outside the city of Atlanta.

Numerous classes and workshops on topics ranging from directing to storyboarding to acting and more, have been held online in the months since COVID-19 has made in person gatherings unrealistic. Existing classes, originally scheduled to be held in person, were restructured and moved online, along with new online educational programming specifically designed for a virtual audience.

Other year-round programming, including the monthly ​Eat, Drink & B-Indie​, also moved online. This move started in April with a conversation with Naomi McDougall Jones, filmmaker and activist. In anticipation of the 44th Atlanta Film Festival, which has been postponed to September, the Atlanta Film Society is also holding weekly live streamed ​filmmaker interviews​ with a variety of filmmakers who were accepted into the 44th festival.
