Tyler Perry is currently producing and directing “Straw,” a new thriller-drama movie backed by Netflix.
Filming is underway at Perry’s studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with production expected to run from May 28th to June 28th, 2024.
The movie follows a single mother who encounters a string of misfortunes that drastically alter her life.
As for Perry’s continuous work in the Atlanta film industry, his latest release, “Mea Culpa,” featuring Kelly Rowland, premiered earlier this year, receiving over 70 million hours watched.
Next on the horizon is “Six Triple Eight,” a WWII biopic set for release later this year. Two more Madea movies are also on the way, including “Madea’s Destination Wedding,” which has already been filmed. In the TV realm, there’s a series titled “Beauty in Black” in development.
