The fifteenth year of BronzeLens Film Festival is kicking off its 2024 slate of events with their Women SuperStars Honors, which recognizes outstanding contributions by women in the film industry. This year, honorees include acclaimed actresses Vanessa Bell Calloway and Anika Noni Rose, alongside KJ Smith, and producer Dr. Holly Carter, all of whom are making significant impacts both on screen and behind the scenes that further advance the roles of women in filmmaking.
The BronzeLens Women SuperStars Honors (WSSH) stands out as a premier industry accolade, dedicated to honoring the accomplishments of women of color in the realms of film, television, and theater. Over time, it has evolved into a highly anticipated signature occasion for film industry professionals, as well as for corporate entities and the local community. Furthermore, WSHH fosters interactive networking opportunities and facilitates social and professional connections to both inspire and educate women from diverse backgrounds as they advance in the film industry.
Actor Timon Kyle Durrett is this year’s host while Atlanta’s very own Chandra Currelley is performing. Adding to the evening’s highlights, producer, director, animator, and writer Ayoka Chenzira, a 2018 BronzeLens Women SuperStar award-winner, will host a panel titled “SuperStars In Conversation” featuring the 2024 honorees.
The event will take place at Georgia State’s Rialto Center for Arts.
