At the conclusion of the 96-Hour Opera Festival, the winning team is awarded $10,000 and a commission from The Atlanta Opera to develop a chamber opera. The first festival, held in 2022, was won by Marcus Norris and Adamma Ebo.
Their opera, “Forsyth County is Flooding (With the Joy of Lake Lanier),” is now set to debut at the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia on June 15, 2024.
Just a few days later, on June 17, the 96-Hour Opera Project Showcase will take place, inviting the public to witness the debut of five brand-new mini-operas, as teams compete for the prestigious Antinori Foundation Grand Prize in a thrilling contest judged by a panel of experts.
In the lead-up to this event, five teams are given four days to produce and perform a 10-minute opera, which the judges then evaluate.
Tickets are available now at 96-Hour Opera Festival!
