Another Spider-Man spinoff from Marvel and Sony is coming to Georgia
The new spinoff Silver and Black will be filming in Atlanta in 2018, according to Omega Underground. The film will be directed by Gina Price-Bythewood, who will also be charged with writing the screenplay alongside Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz, Lisa Joy, Keith Pollard, Marv Wolfman and Christopher Yost. Producers for the project are Avi Arad, Amy Pascal and Matt Tolmach. Silver and Black is a joint production between Sony Pictures Entertainment, Marvel Entertainment, Columbia Pictures and Avi Arad Productions. As pre-production has already begun, reports indicate that Black Panther costume designer Ruth E. Carter is on board, as well as Doctor Strange VFX supervisor Sheena Duggal.
The movie focuses on Felicia Hardy, a.k.a Black Cat, in tandem with Silver Sable. Silver and Black will be the second Spider-Man spinoff to come to Atlanta, the first being Venom, which stars Tom Hardy and is slated to continue filming locally through February. The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first of which filmed in Atlanta as well, will begin filming locally in 2018 as an official part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
