The Forsyth County Family YMCA has created a new program encouraging kids to forge friendships through video games.
“Some people are just not meant to play sports,” explains YMCA worker, Vedant Patel. “So, if they like video games, they can play video games and get the same team building skills.”
The group currently convenes twice a week to play titles like Rocket League, Fortnite, and many others.
“People with connections who are good at teamwork will always get further in life compared to even someone with an education, or high education even,” notes middle-schooler Zakaria Murphy.
