This year the producers of the BronzeLens Film Festival have selected five illustrious women to receive the “BronzeLens Women Superstars Award.”

This highly sought after award recognizes some of the most successful females of color in the industry. This year’s honorees include actress Margaret Avery (The Color Purple), filmmaker Julie Dash (Daughters of the Dust), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, producer Nina Bongiovi (Dope), and script supervisor Dawn Gilliam (Star Wars, Star Trek, The Hunger Games).
