The 48 Hour Film Project competition returns to Atlanta for another run

Get your filmmaking team together and compete in the short film competition hosted by the 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP). The winner will earn the opportunity to have their film screened at the Cannes Film Festival next year, and to go up against global filmmakers at Filmapalooza 2019. The contest will take place June 29-July 1, so make sure to clear your schedule if you want to join in the fun. Following the 48 hours of competition, teams will have their work screened in front of an audience of film-industry members and film lovers alike, beginning July 10 at the Landmark Theater.

Early-bird registration is $148 if you enter by June 1st, but if you’re looking for a chance to enter your team for free, Indie Film Loop and Get Connected will be giving away a free registration spot for one lucky team. Make sure to attend their network BBQ May 31 for your chance to win.

48HFP has been traveling the country hosting competitions since 2001. Over 30,000 films have been screened during their nearly 1,000 events. The organization’s stated mission is to “advance filmmaking and promote filmmakers. Through its festival/competition, the Project encourages filmmakers and would-be filmmakers to get out there and make movies.”

This year, 48HFP is judging entries based on the following:

45% Technical Merit

30% Adherence to the Assignment

25% Audience Vote
