By Oz Online | Published on November 13, 2017

Maynard, a documentary exploring the life and career of former Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson, has begun post production locally. The film, shot here in the city that Jackson so famously served, wrapped production on Oct. 10 and is scheduled for release in 2018. It is directed by award-winner Sam Pollard, and is produced by Wendy Eley Jackson, Dolly Turner, Winsome Sinclair and Atlanta-based Auburn Avenue Films. Interviews included in the film come from well-known officials such as President Bill Clinton, Rev. Al Sharpton, civil rights activist Vernon Jordan, former mayor and ambassador Andrew Young, Rev. Joseph Lowery, Rev. Jesse Jackson, former mayor Sam Massell, former mayor Shirley Franklin, and Mayor Kasim Reed. Make sure to catch Maynard next year at film festivals across the country, including DOC NYC.
